Bruce:  Welcome Everybody to the Big Call Tonight. Let’s talk about where we are now. I will be honest with you as I always am. We had heard some things the last two to three days to make this thing look like we had it tonight, last night, or the night before which was Tuesday night. It didn’t happen for us. We kind of realized what was going on and where we are and what is happening now. Where I was excited thinking we were right there,  we weren’t quite there, but we were close, and now we are even closer.

Here what is going on.

You know Iraq is having their elections Saturday, May 12, 2018, in two days. What we are hearing is the percentage of people that will vote for Abadi is around 74 % to 74 ½ %.  He is looking really good for reelection.
Bruce:  There has been discussion why Abadi may or may not have had the rate publicly known yet internationally for the dinar. We have seen some rates on a few screens. We have seen where the program the Economic Development was initiated last Monday. We did get confirmation for that, but for some reason that rate has not been quite put out yet. We were hearing there was an announcement that was going to be put out today about 1:00pm today on the east coast. If it didn’t by 1:00pm EST today, then they would make that announcement talking about Iraq on sometime on Sunday which would be our late Saturday night.

Don’t know for sure what that announcement is about.  Maybe it is about the economic reforms. Maybe it is about the new Economic Development Plan.  Maybe it is about something else, but we not necessary think it is about the dinar as a rate. To me we know Iraq has satisfied everything for the people in country.

Bruce:  We know things are moving along nicely. However we still do not quite have a rate known internationally. We know the trading range of that rate. We know roughly what it is within a few cents actually. We know it has been on the screens at the Redemption Centers, but we also know that rate has been solid on the screens. Then at lunch time on the east coast at noon yesterday the rate disappeared. All the rates disappeared.

You might ask why would all the rates come off the screens at the same time and really be off for hours or longer. It usually indicates there is going to be some tinkering with the rates, some changes, updates, and modifications to the rates so they come back up and are changed. That is normally what happens.

Bruce:  The only thing today is I do not know if those rates repopulated, showed the changes, and whether they are live or not. They were live and solid until about noon yesterday.  Then we think they are maybe back up now. We do not know. I can’t tell you that. That is another piece of information that is more about the exchange locations or the Redemption Centers than anything else.

I really think Iraq for the most part has done what it is they need to do. The election is Saturday. There has been some discussion as to why they haven’t had the rate out. I am not sure exactly, but I think we can look forward to the weekend. Let’s put it that way: to the weekend.

Bruce:  Otherwise if we come back to this global reset, we talk about the various Tiers, groups. We call them Tiers 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Tiers 1 and 2 have been completed. They have been paid out. They are done. Call them done.  Tier 3 was starting last night then there was a little clean up on aisle 3 during the initiation and the working of the codes that needed to be entered. We had some clean up.

Then late last night it went swimmingly. Everything is moving along nicely with Tier 3. They are paying them out using their Pay Masters, using the aggregators and so on in these meetings to get these people, the recipients paid. That all is working very well right now. In fact in the last couple hours what I heard was they are moving along at a pretty good pace.
Bruce:  We that are part of the Internet Group here is considered Tier 4. Tier 3 has to complete first before we go. What I am hearing is Tier 3 will complete either late tonight or sometime overnight. That is the best estimate for it.

There may be some other things like picking up receipts like that from those transactions that needs to happen, but for right now we are in line to go sometime after Tier 3 is completed. It could be any time from tomorrow through the weekend is what I am hearing.  I am just telling you what I am hearing.  It is looking very strong for us now because we are in the process. We are in the midst of it. It just not quite our turn. What we are witnessing today is by far and away new and different.  It is new.

Bruce:  Give you an example. We know of some individuals that are part of Tier 3. They received an email today telling them they will have access to their funds after 2pm tomorrow.  That is a really good indicator of the movement and when liquidity is going to be realized.

That is a really good thing for the Tier 3 person. We are in the midst.

It is just not quite to us yet. I am still anticipating getting the toll free numbers.  I do not know when they are coming in.  I have heard some possible times. Realistically I am ready for them, and you are ready for them.  We all are ready to get started. We are ready for them. This is something that we need to be patient for a little bit longer, but probably not a whole lot longer from what I am seeing, hearing, and aware of  what is going on in the process.

Bruce:  I want everyone to be confident in where we are in this and know that your time is coming very shortly. There are many people that we talked to just are scratching their heads as to why this didn’t happen today or yesterday.

We know now after further examination why we aren’t there yet. We know why. There had to be a few things that had to happen. There was a little cleanup that needed to take place. It was done and things are moving along nicely.  I feel very confident where we are now. I feel good about it. I am relaxed and chilled.

I am looking forward to getting started just like you are. There is not a whole lot else that I can tell you that is relative to us. There really not a whole lot else. That is really what I wanted to bring to you tonight. I think we are ready to get started with our programs, with our Humanitarian Projects, and we are ready to get going with that.

Bruce:   One little point of clarification. On Tuesday’s night call I told you guys I was not a CPA, nor an attorney, nor do I play one on the Big Call. That is why I didn’t even go into explaining to you the difference between a Current Account and a Fiduciary Account. I want to thank Pinkroses for doing a little research on that. If you did read something in the transcript about that last from Tuesday call that was in last Tuesday call, that was information Pinkroses was able to shed light on that subject. It wasn’t something that I said, but what I said was because it was kind of technical and it is kind of a legal term like Fiduciary I didn’t want to mess it up.

I didn’t want to give you something that might not accurate. Just realize that is what happened and why she did a really good job putting that information out. Just check it out with your attorney if you are going to use one. Check it out. Make sure you understand the difference in that. Research it on your own. Fiduciary and Current. Just look into those two types of accounts and decide what direction you want to be part of, and you may do both.  You may end up doing both. It is not necessary one or the other. Just check it out and that is why I just wanted to clarify that.
Bruce:  I think we are really ready to get started. I can tell you one other thing before we go. My structures are coming together very nicely for the projects that we are going to start on. If you are not sure if you have a project or not or you  don’t have enough information on Rebuild America program that we are going to do, it is just a matter of telling them that you hear there is a program that the Big Call is going to start called Rebuild America and it is going to involve what I like is participation from the listenership of at least 5000 of you out there that will say I will take this city, this town or these two towns, this community, and sort of follow the template that we put together and we put out on how we are going to go about doing it.

It is just really is about infrastructure, schools, could be working with clinics, food domes, community gardens in the inner city. A lot we are going to do and put out there. That is something I would like to have help on. I want you to do where you live or where you see the need. That is really it. We will start here in the United States and build these things out. Then we will do these things in other countries as well.  It is just not for the United States.

Bruce:  That is really just what I wanted to bring to you tonight. I hope you get something from that.  I hope you are ready and all prepared to get started because I am, Pastor Steven is, Sue is, and Bob is. We are all ready to get going with you. Thank you everybody. We appreciate you listening faithfully these 7 years of the Big Call. Thank you everybody on my team, Sue, Pastor Steven, and Bob. Thank you for your faithfulness and I appreciate everybody out there. Thank you and have a beautiful night. Let’s see what happens over the weekend. Good night Everybody.

Note: Thank you Bruce, from Pinkroses.

GreatlyBlessed:  Trump's Iran decision puts Iraq leaders to the test

Samia Nakhoul   MAY 10, 2018 / 7:34 AM

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw from the Iranian nuclear deal has cast a shadow over an already fraught election in Iraq, where Tehran and Washington have vied for influence since the U.S.-led invasion toppled Saddam Hussein in 2003.

The removal of a Sunni dictatorship cleared the path for the country’s Shi’ite majority, from which the three top contenders for the premiership, including incumbent Haider al-Abadi, are drawn. The outcome of the May 12 ballot is too close to call.

Whoever wins must balance Iraq’s interests - and the need to reduce the struggling economy’s dependence on oil - with those of the United States and Iran, whose intensifying rivalry makes that more difficult.
Abadi and his main rivals - predecessor Nuri al-Maliki and new challenger Hadi al-Amiri, a hardline militia commander at the head of a powerful paramilitary coalition aligned with Iran - tilt heavily towards Tehran.

With Trump increasing pressure on Iran, its Shi’ite clerical leadership will be even more determined to maintain its patronage in Iraq.

For Iran, Iraq is the most important Arab state, even more than Syria and Lebanon, where it also holds political and military sway. That is because Iran and Iraq share a border and Iraq is positioned in the heart of the Gulf region.

Iraq is also Iran’s main route for supplying arms and fighters to Syria, where it has deployed with allied Iraqi and Lebanese Shi’ite militias to back President Bashar al-Assad in the civil war.

One concern for Iraq is the risk of clashes between the 5,000 U.S. troops there and Shi’ite paramilitaries notionally under Baghdad’s command but answering to Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, and to supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

“The Iraqis are very worried. They don’t want Iraq to become a new theater of ... war between Iran and the United States,” said one senior Western envoy. “If there is a war between Iran and the United States, part of it will be here.”

The U.S. and Iran had found a common enemy in Islamic State, which at one point held about a third of Iraq, mainly in the north and the west.

Its rapid advance owed much to the collapse of Iraq’s army, hollowed out by the sectarian policies of the Maliki government.

Many Iraqis attribute the jihadis’ subsequent defeat to men like Amiri and the Iranian-trained militias, rather than to U.S.-led coalition forces.

America mainly provided air power, while relying on Kurdish fighters on the ground in both Syria and Iraq.

But while Iran sees Iraq as the most strategically important Arab state, some experts believe Tehran will focus more on Israel and the Syrian battlefield.

The conflict there threatens to draw in Israel. Only hours after Trump’s announcement on the Iran nuclear deal it launched air strikes against what it says were Iranian and Hezbollah assets, creeping closer to Israel’s borders.

Iranian forces in Syria shelled Israeli army outposts across the Syrian frontier overnight, Israel said, prompting one of the heaviest Israeli strikes in Syria since the war began in 2011.

Iraq’s foreign ministry called Trump’s decision “hasty and rash”, and said Washington’s withdrawal from the nuclear accord “goes in the direction of escalation which would bring nothing but destruction and the desolation of war” in the Middle East.

In the worst-case scenario, diplomats in the region said, Iran would target U.S. interests in Iraq as their militias did in 2005 by firing rockets into the U.S. embassy in Baghdad. But Iran might prefer to steer clear of Iraq and use Syria instead.

Iraq’s Shi’ite leaders nonetheless face a dilemma about how to balance policy between the United States and Iran.

Some Iraqi leaders, among them Abadi, say they want to steer clear of U.S.-Iranian rivalries.

They would “want to follow the model of non-aligned policies, friends of all”, said another Western diplomat.

Others, including Amiri, believe that Iraq’s single most important relationship is with Iran, and that they have to reinforce that relationship.

Also important to Iraq is building bridges with the minority Sunni community, although some politicians are wary of Abadi’s tentative rapprochement with Sunni Saudi Arabia, nurtured after decades of estrangement.

“Their greatest nightmare is to wake up and have the Sunnis or Arabs undermine their ascendancy and dominance in the system, as happened with Daesh,” said the second Western diplomat, referring to Islamic State’s advances in 2014.

“They are reminded that Iran will be their ultimate resort when that nightmare happens ... When the (Islamic State) caliphate was declared, they (the Iranians) were the first to come to their rescue, not the U.S. or anybody else.”

Iraq’s Shi’ites do not want to be dominated by Iran, but Trump’s move this week against Tehran may make that harder.

“After (Trump’s decision) the question is how do you implement a balanced policy when Iran will use Iraq’s airspace to arm its militias in Syria? What will they do?”, said the diplomat.

Powerful militias trained, funded and armed by Iran and led by Amiri might answer to Tehran rather than Baghdad.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has built Shi’ite militias at the heart of the so-called Popular Mobilisation Forces (PMF) into a structure to rival the Iraqi army and security forces.

It did something similar within Lebanon’s Shi’ite Hezbollah movement, which has helped Tehran project military strength across the region.

Another Step Towards Collapse Of The Petrodollar

by Tyler Durden

Wed, 05/09/2018 - 23:45

Authored by Rory Hall via The Daily Coin,

For the past year and half a major topic throughout the alternative press has been the new Chinese oil futures contract settled/priced in yuan. The fact that China is directly challenging the Federal Reserve Note, U.S. dollar, is quite a significant change. For those that have been paying attention this new futures oil contract is nothing more than the next step in China moving completely away from the Federal Reserve Note, and the “world reserve currency” system and towards a multi-polar world with several currencies being used for international trade.
Ken Schortgen, Jr., The Daily Economist, recently penned an article about Nigeria approving a currency swap agreement with China, stating,

It has been a little more than a month since China officially began offering oil futures contracts denominated in the Yuan currency, but early results continue to be positive for this contract to over time take more and more market share from the West and the Petrodollar. And with Iran, Qatar, and even Venezuela having already agreed to buy and sell their oil in currencies other than the dollar, a new currency swap agreement signed on May 3 between Nigeria and China could mean that a fourth OPEC nation could also soon be leaving the Petrodollar.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has signed a currency swap deal worth about $2.5 billion with the People’s Bank of China to provide adequate local currency liquidity for transactions between national businesses, The Punch newspaper reported on Thursday, citing a high-ranking official from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). Sputnik News

While China pursued currency swaps as far back as 1997, during the “Asian financial crisis”, none of the agreements were ever activated. That all changed with the global financial meltdown in 2008. China began actively pursuing, and instituting, direct currency swaps and even went so far as to open “Renminbi Clearing Centers” around the world including Canada, the backyard of the U.S..

Beyond the moderate progress in Asian regional financial cooperation, China has signed swap agreements with approximately 30 countries since 2008 (see Table 1). The People’s Bank of China (PBOC) stated that those swap agreements were intended not only to “stabilize the international financial market,” but also to “facilitate bilateral trade and investment.”

China, along with a great many other nations, are ready for this system to change and balance the economic scale. When you announce to the world that your currency is someone else’s problem, the people that have the problem usually find a way to mend the problem and eliminate the situation creating the problem.

Even the gloomiest pessimists accept that a steep dollar depreciation would inflict more suffering on China and other Asian economies than on the United States. John Snow’s counterpart in the Nixon administration once told his European counterparts that “the dollar is our currency, but your problem.”

Snow could say the same to Asians today. If the dollar fell by a third against the renminbi, according to Nouriel Roubini, an economist at New York University, the People’s Bank of China could suffer a capital loss equivalent to 10 percent of China’s gross domestic product. For that reason alone, the P.B.O.C. has every reason to carry on printing renminbi in order to buy dollars.

This is exactly where we stand today.

China, along with Russia, understand this scenario all too well. These two nations, along with 30+ other nations, are making moves to be rid of the problem known as the Federal Reserve Note, U.S. dollar.

Once this “problem” is corrected the U.S. economy will change dramatically. Inflation, and according to some economist like John Williams of Shadow Stats, hyperinflation will reign down on the U.S. economy like the world has never seen or experienced before. At this juncture we can only hope cooler heads prevail and a major war doesn’t manifest to announce the coming change in our global monetary system.\

Samson:  Vietnam : Transaction value via ATM/POS surges 34%

9th May, 2018

The value of transactions via POS rose by 27 per cent to more than VNĐ318 trillion by the end of last year

The total value of transactions via the automatic teller machines (ATMs) and points of sale (POS) last year surged sharply by 34 per cent against the previous year.

The State Bank of Việt Nam (SBV) reported at a forum on the sustained growth of the banking industry, held in Hà Nội on Tuesday.

By the end of last year, Việt Nam had some 17,558 ATM and 268,813 POS, a year-on-year increase of 10 per cent.

The value of transactions via POS rose by 27 per cent to more than VNĐ318 trillion (US$13.95 billion), while the number of transactions surged sharply by 40 per cent to nearly 136 million.
The ratio of cash withdrawal at ATMs declined to 6.86 per cent late last year against 15.71 per cent in 2016.

Director of SBV’s Payment Department Phạm Tiến Dũng said that payments via internet and mobile phones last year soared by more than 50 per cent, while inter-bank transactions also witnessed a strong growth at 30 per cent, both in volume and value, with a daily transaction revenue of some $10 billion.

Dũng attributed the rise to the banking industry’s efforts to apply technological advances in the fourth industrial revolution to develop payment infrastructure, and enhance payment security and safety in recent years.

The SBV has also focused on streamlining legal framework and applying technologies in non-cash payment besides promoting management and supervision in payment.

Besides this, commercial banks have integrated more functions on payment, so that customers can pay for all kinds of bills, from water, electricity and telephone to insurance and transport fee through their bank accounts.

The SBV has so far implemented a plan to develop card payment using card readers at POS and mobile points of sale (mPOS) from 2017 to 2020, which is aimed at boosting the non-cash payment method in Việt Nam, as approved in Decision 2545/QĐ-TTg by the Prime Minister.

Accordingly, the ratio of cash to total payment instruments will be below 10 per cent by the end of 2020, when the whole market will have more than 300,000 card readers installed at POS to process some 200 million transactions every year.   LINK

Samson:  Vietnam's foreign reserves reach record high of US$63b

 7th May, 2018

SBV has bought in $32 billion worth of hard currencies in the past more than two years

State Bank of Việt Nam (SBV) has continuously bought in hard currencies in the past few months, raising the country’s foreign reserves to a record high of US$63 billion.

Mai Tiến Dũng, Minister and Chairman of the Government Office, announced this at a recent press conference following a monthly Cabinet meeting.

SBV bought in $32 billion worth of hard currencies in the past more than two years, Dũng said.

According to experts, SBV has also changed its way of purchasing foreign currency. Instead of using spot trade, the central bank has used futures contracts for the purchase of hard currencies since February 7 this year.

Previously, the bank bought foreign currency in spot trade, with volumes reaching $1-3 billion per day, meaning that an equivalent volume of Vietnamese đồng was pumped into the market in a short time.

But since February, the bank has launched three-month futures contracts to regulate the flow in a more flexible way. Some 40 percent of the foreign reserves have been purchased through futures contracts, helping to balance cash flows to moderate the pressures on interest rates, USD/VNĐ exchange rate and inflation.

Experts attributed the stability to reasons such as SBV’s flexible central rate management mechanism, which ensured that the domestic foreign exchange market was less affected by global factors.

In addition to this, the domestic supply-demand relationship with the dollar was relatively stable thanks to foreign currency supply from exports, foreign investment, official development assistance, tourism and remittances.

The rise in the country’s foreign reserves was reported in the context of the foreign exchange rate in the domestic market being relatively stable. According to the central bank, liquidity of the domestic foreign exchange market was good and met the demands of local organisations and individuals.

On Monday, SBV set the daily reference exchange rate at VNĐ22,558 per US dollar, up VNĐ6 from the last working day of last week.

With the current trading band of +/-3 percent, the ceiling rate applied to commercial banks during the day is VNĐ23,251 per dollar and the floor rate is VNĐ21,807.

Major commercial banks of Vietcombank, BIDV and Vietinbank on Monday listed the USD/VNĐ exchange rate unchanged from last Friday, buying the greenback at VNĐ22,735 and selling it at VNĐ22,805.    LINK

Samson: Vietnam : Credit institutions undergo drastic restructuring

 9th May, 2018

The banking industry is drastically restructuring credit institutions (CIs) in combination with bad debt settlement to ensure their safe, healthy and sustained growth.

Deputy Governor of State Bank of Việt Nam Nguyễn Kim Anh said this at a forum on the banking industry towards sustained growth, held in Hà Nội on May 8.

According to Anh, the restructuring of CIs has so far been positive with the non-performing loans (NPL) ratio of the entire banking system being kept at below 3 per cent.

To ensure the sustained growth of the banking industry, SBV will soon finalise the appraisal and approval of CIs’ restructuring plans besides closely supervising the operation of CIs, especially ailing ones, to timely take actions.

The central bank has so far approved the restructuring plans of most banks. However, the restructuring plans of financial companies and financial leasing companies are still being prepared.

As for State-owned commercial banks, the restructuring would focus on enhancing the banks’ financial status after their restructuring plans are approved by the Prime Minister, Anh said, adding that according to a decision issued last year the on restructuring CIs in combination with NPL settlements for 2016-20, State-owned banks must improve their charter capital to meet Basel standards.

SBV’s Deputy Chief Inspector Phạm Huyền Anh said the central bank would also resolutely deal with the cross ownership and violation of the limit regulation on ownership of shares at banks to avoid group interests, which could cause damage to the entire banking system.

Solutions on trading NPLs according to the market mechanism would also be implemented together with measures to control risks of the trading method, Anh said.

As for monetary management policy, Nguyễn Thanh Hà, director of SBV’s Monetary Policy Department, said the central bank this year would continue to manage the monetary policy actively and flexibly in order to better control inflation and support economic growth.

He did say however that there should be a close co-operation between monetary and fiscal policies and the State’s price management mechanism in order to make the policies effective, as inflation is under pressure owing to global price volatility, price hikes of goods managed by the State, and high growth of local consumption demands and securities markets.

Moreover, the rising inflows of foreign direct investment, foreign indirect investment capital and divestment of State-owned enterprises would hit the central bank hard this year, and provide a challenge to balance cash flows to moderate the pressures on inflation, interest rates, and the USD/VNĐ exchange rate, he said.

At the forum, experts praised SBV’s handling of monetary management policy in recent years, noting it had helped stabilise the macroeconomy, support economic growth, and create confidence among investors.

The experts suggested the central bank continue to apply the current stable and flexible monetary management policy as it was suitable and effective.

According to Nguyễn Xuân Thành, director of Fulbright University Vietnam, the monetary management policy is operating so well that the central bank should not loosen it.

SBV had to do so a year ago to support economic growth, which reached only over five per cent in the first quarter of 2017, Thành said, adding that the country’s gross domestic product (GDP) growth last year was supported significantly by the monetary policy.

However, the policy should not loosen this year as the GDP rate was good in the beginning of the year, with positive signals in domestic demands and exports as well as in manufacturing and processing, Thành added.   LINK

Samson:  Việt Nam rolls out red carpet for Chinese investors: Ambassador

 9th May, 2018

Representatives of Việt Nam and China signed co-operation agreements at the conference in China’s Chongqing city

The Vietnamese Government always welcomes and commits to creating conditions for foreign businesses, including those from China’s Chongqing city, to land investment in high-tech projects in the country, said Vietnamese Ambassador to China Đặng Minh Khôi.

At a seminar on Tuesday held by the Vietnamese Embassy in China, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Vietnam in collaboration with Chongqing authorities, Ambassador Khoi noticed that the investors should pay more attention to protecting the environment while working to ensure labourers’ benefits and social welfare in the host nation.

Việt Nam is accelerating industrialisation and modernisation and shaking up the economy in coupled with renovating growth model, he said, adding that the country is giving priority to the development of high-tech industries, green technologies, clean energy, organic agriculture and digital economy, among others.

He expressed his hope that China will open door for the products which are of Việt Nam’s strengths and China’s demand like farm produce, pork and dairy products.

Creating favourable conditions for Vietnamese products in the custom clearance procedures is an important move to bring two-way trade into a more balanced manner, he said.

Meanwhile, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Trần Quốc Khánh highlighted that Việt Nam and China hold huge potential to bolster logistics cooperation.

Việt Nam’s logistics service has enjoyed strong growth with annual expansion of 20-25 per cent and according to the World Bank’s rankings, Việt Nam is 64th out of 160 countries in the world and 4th in ASEAN after Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand in logistics development.

The 1,400 kilometre freight train service between Hà Nội and Chongqing will open opportunities for both sides to collaborate in the logistics sector, he said, adding that it is an effective channel to transport goods, including tropical fruit, farm produce and seafood, between Việt Nam and China’s localities.

For his part, deputy mayor of Chongqing city Liu Guiping said that multi-model transportation, cross-border road transport and international railways are three main types of transportation, which help connecting Chongqing and China’s western localities with Việt Nam and other ASEAN nations.

He wished that enterprises from both nations will work to promote cooperation in the field.

At the seminar, Vietnam Logistics Business Association and the trade office of Chongqing city inked an agreement on enhancing logistics cooperation. Enterprises from both sides signed their agreements and specific cooperation programmes in the coming time.

In addition, more than 200 firms met to seek linkages in economy, trade and logistics on this occasion.   LINK

We're going to have to keep a close watch on the CBI over the next few weeks Iran has a tendency to suck dollars out of Iraq when it needs them and this could affect the spread.

Course if this happens is bad for the CBI cuz it'll affect its reserves as well it'll knock the spread out of whack with the IMF forcing them to start over again on the 3 month compliance. Hopefully Iran's weak currency and lack of dollars does not affect the CBI. They must be pretty confident since they are liberalizing even more. Remember the IMF and US Treasury helped them figure out how to get the spread within compliance last fall."

Chattels     Kaperoni : " It's going to go up and down. As long as it stays under 1214 to $1 were ok. I am concerned over the Iran issue. The Ryal is tanking bad and dollars are hard to come by. chattels   The U.S. Export-Import Bank did say that it would sign a memorandum of understanding with Iraq for $2-$3 billion to help finance projects and trade.

At the start of May however, the Intercept talked with the Bank and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and neither said they had any projects planned for Iraq. The State Department is in transition with Secretary Tillerson having been fired so there could be a period before it works out a plan for what the Export-Import Bank and Overseas Investment Corporation could do in Iraq.

The conference was also only three months ago. On the other hand, maybe America really isn’t going to help since the White House doesn’t seem much interested in Iraq after the war with the Islamic State ended.

Spectra    ( The collapse of the Toman after the US sanctions .. Will it make Iraq's economy on the verge of impasse? )

Nawara al-Aqabi    2018/5/9 01:34:43 PM     As soon as President Donald Trump announced his country's withdrawal from Iran's nuclear deal in 2015 and the reinstatement of US sanctions on Tehran, the Iranian toman broke down in an unprecedented manner against foreign currencies, bringing the exchange rate of the dollar to 6800 to 7200 tomans.

The decision was accompanied by a significant rise in oil prices to a three-and-a-half-year high of more than 2 percent, as Trump's move is likely to limit Opec's exports of crude in a market already suffering from tight supply.

US crude rose to $ 75.76 a barrel on Wednesday, its best performance since November 2014. It was $ 76.66 a barrel at 0137 GMT, up $ 1.81 or 2.4 percent from its last close. .
9 May 18, 03:47 PMSpectra    US West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 1.51 dollars, or 2.2 percent, to 70.61 dollars per barrel, also nearing their highest level since late 2014.

As soon as Trump ended, his national security adviser, John Bolton, announced that reinstatement of US sanctions linked to Iran's nuclear program would immediately apply to new contracts, adding that foreign companies had a few months to "get out" of Iran.

The US Treasury Department said the United States would re-impose a wide range of sanctions on aircraft exports to Iran, trade in minerals, sanctions targeting the Iranian oil sector and transactions with its central bank, and any efforts by Tehran to obtain US dollars.

A move in which observers see a rise in the risk of conflict in the Middle East, raising uncertainty about the global oil supply, as well as the impact of the Iraqi economy market as a result of the demand of Iranian tourists to buy the dollar and this causes the crisis of foreign currency out of the country, As a result of the lack of tourists in religious areas, which rely heavily on Iranian visitors.

Iraq is Iran's economic outlet

Spectra   "The withdrawal of the US from the nuclear agreement and the collapse of the Iranian currency again will affect Iraq in terms of imports of Iranian tourism, which will decrease in the coming days, this will increase the stagnation of the Iraqi markets and hotels, especially economic experts," Salam Samisem told The News. In religious areas that depend not least on Iranian visitors. "
"When the currency of a particular country falls, exports will increase directly, and imports from that country will become profitable, and thus increase the amount of Iranian exports to Iraq because of the neighborhood relationship and the political ties between the two countries."

"Iran will not find a way out but Iraq, as in 2009 when the economic blockade was intensified, Iraq was its only outlet," Smisem added.

And draws that: "Iraqi markets will be open to Iranian goods without rival, which will negatively affect the Iraqi economy and domestic goods, the fact that the importer below the quality level and less price."

A danger hovering over Iraq

A member of the Committee on Economy and Investment, Abdul Salam al-Maliki says in his speech to (One News) that: "A withdrawal from the nuclear agreement will have a significant return on the whole region, especially as the situation surrounding Iraq divided between supporters and opponents of this withdrawal."

Article: “Abadi: The corrupt have become restless” Quote: “the corrupt were pressing for the collapse of the dinar prices and work to raise prices, but failed to do so,” asserting his quest for “a new renaissance of Iraq to restore its past and even better.” I have to think – with the context of his commentary in this article focused on the value of the Dinar, Abadi has something planned for after the elections. I’m not exactly sure what he’s talking about here… but it sounds good to me!

Iraq is applying for membership of the European Bank
09-05-2018 02:01 PM

Iraq is applying for membership of the European BankIraq has submitted a formal request to become a member of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development to receive support from it, the Reuters news agency reported on Wednesday.
The agency said that the Iraqi authorities have filed a formal request in a recent letter and that it is scheduled to discuss the request for membership in the meeting of the 66 governments to contribute to the bank in Jordan today.
“We can confirm that we received the application for membership, so that Iraq is the state of our operations, and we will ask this question to the shareholders to know their point of view and take a decision in this regard,” said the bank spokesman.
“If Iraq succeeds, the number of countries in which the bank operates will be 30,” he said.
The bank was set up in 1991 to help the former Soviet Union move towards capitalism and the free market. The MLB now operates from Morocco in North Africa through central and south-eastern Europe to Mongolia in East Asia.

Most Gracious and Heavenly Father, is this our day Father? Lots of folks seem to believe that there is a very good chance that this could happen today, just like it could have happened over the last weekend. Still we proceed with the knowledge that the ultimate result will be the correct time and no doubt future historians will look back on this and find the real reason that this was delayed.

Dear Lord God Almighty, help us endure this news black out period for factual, reliable, and actual reasons for the delay and expose of the process. The future is where we will find out the reasoning for the delay whereas the past will stand only until it has been proven to be false or at best partially true. Still Lord our faith is in You to see us through these speculative times.

Sleep well my friends and keep the faith that this will happen and we need to be as prepared as we can possibly be. That means getting all of information together and organized in a way that we can pick up and go at any possible moment. Most of all, whenever the go signal is given via an 800 number to call or an email or text message is received. As you are heading to your appointment remember, ”Our Destiny Awaits”

It should be recalled that a group of experts and specialists in financial and economic affairs HAVE BEEN ENCOURAGED TO PROCESS THE REVALORIZATION OF THE IRAQI DINAR AGAINST THE VALUE OF THE DOLLAR AND OTHER FOREIGN CURRENCIES

BobTheTaxMan TIDBIT, 10 MAY

We are not in the business of exchanging dinar.  We don’t have a clearance for the date of exchange. We don’t have any of that stuff.  We are just holders, anticipating it’s going to come to fruition.  The other one people get confused on is…If you went to travel and packed up and went to Iraq for a visit and you had some dinar with you when you came back, there was some left in your pocket and it increase in value…if it exceeded $200 of travel money then that would be considered as capital gains. It also meant you weren’t traveling with 10’s of millions of dinar.  Alright?  It’s just travel money.  I can assure you I have checked with so many places.  I have checked with well established CPA firms and attorneys.  I have had professional financial planners contact their tax attorneys and they all come back with the same thing.  It [Dinar] will be treated as ordinary income.  [Post 2 of 2] [NOTE:  This is NOT to be considered tax advice.  At the appropriate time speak with your own tax and legal professional]

Samson:  Oil rose to its highest level in years

2018-05-10 at 10:39 (Baghdad time)

Oil prices rose to a one-year high on Thursday as traders prepared for possible renewed US sanctions on Iran, one of the largest exporters of crude, as the gap between supply and demand in the market is already narrow.

The United States plans to impose new sanctions on Iran, which produces about four percent of the world's oil supplies, after it pulled out of a deal reached in late 2015 and limits Tehran's nuclear ambitions in return for lifting US and European sanctions.

Oil prices rose strongly after the announcement of the measures.

Brent crude futures were the highest since November 2014 at $ 77.89 a barrel just before 0700 GMT on Thursday, up 0.9 percent from the previous settlement.

WTI crude futures were the highest since November 2014 at $ 71.84 a barrel, before falling to $ 71.78 a barrel. But this is still higher than the previous settlement by 0.9 percent.   LINK

Usmcret22:  Notice he says MY GOVERNMENT, if that's not being POSITIVE....you GO ABADI

Samson:  Abadi: My next government will not be consensual and I will not appoint party ministers

 9th May, 2018

Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi said on Wednesday (May 9th, 2018) that he would not be in a future government that does not consider fighting corruption a priority, reassuring the border with Syria and Damascus's approval of air strikes in the border area

Abadi said in a televised interview that he "took over the leadership of the country when it was militarily collapsed before a sympathetic organization and that many saw that Iraq was broken and ended before we went back and defeated the organization of the preacher, recalling that victory over this organization was over 3 years after the world considered that eliminating it No way.

He added that "there is a significant change in the Iraqi army and police, on dealing with the soldier and the officer in the army, in terms of dealing with the security man with the citizens," stressing that "some Western capitals surprised quickly victory over a preacher a year ago."

The Prime Minister revealed that when he announced the victory of the "da'ash" in 2017, some Western capitals contacted their embassies to ask: "Is this true, it is possible that Iraqi forces have arrived and seized the Iraqi-Syrian border so quickly."

As for the popular crowd, Abadi said, "The popular mobilization system has been added. This is an advantage. In addition, I insisted that the popular crowd fight with the army and the police. The popular crowd are volunteers who did not graduate from academies to learn law and order. "I wanted to move this to the army."

"I can not follow all cases of abuse, but there are cases where I get details and I will be severely punished," Abadi said.

And what happened in the relationship with the Kurdistan region of Iraq, Abadi pointed out that there was no "fighting and no bloodshed, but we resorted to a kind of political administration and security and military management, to prevent fighting between the brothers," adding: "My first concern was that there should be no shedding Blood and that we do this correctly, and we succeeded, by winning our citizens and even winning the Peshmerga. "

He continued: "I have addressed the days of the Peshmerga, they listened to us and did not listen to their leaders, did not fight, their leadership unfortunately was calling them to fight the Iraqi army."

As for the economic situation, Abadi pointed out that "the decline in oil prices that accompanied the military collapse was surprising," stressing that "Iraq nevertheless maintained basic services and support farmers," noting that "the production of electricity rose significantly in 4 years "He said.

Abadi continued, "The Iraqi market today, where many products written on the manufacture in Iraq, we began to change the direction and direction of the economy."

"The state must take measures to deter corruption, and we have taken a set of measures. My focus on the security establishment has been largely cleansed of corruption, because without that we can not achieve anything," he said.

He added: "I did not stop when fighting corruption, but turned the fight against corruption to a methodology in the state, began to establish the presence of enthusiastic young people trained them, as we requested international expertise."

As for the political aspect of the upcoming parliamentary elections in Iraq, Abbadi stressed that his ambition is to "have a government based on competencies regardless of party affiliation."

He said: "I have national constants and I have a project, it is not important to judge or become a prime minister, the project we agree to go by, we must all agree."

Abadi stressed that "it will not be in a government does not consider the fight against corruption a priority," noting that "the consensus system proved to fail because it built on the interests of the parties at the expense of the national interest."

He assured Abadi to put the border with Syria, and stressed that "the air strikes on a dodger in Syria will continue until the elimination of the organization, because his presence is a danger to us and informed us Damascus," he said.

He concluded by saying that "the Syrian government informed us of its agreement to our raids against Da'ash at the border areas."     LINK
