Baghdad (Iraqinews.com) – Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al-Abadi has agreed to fulfill a condition set by Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr to retain his post as prime minister in the new government.

According to Alkhaleej Online, Sadr his requested Abadi to withdraw from the Islamic Dawa Party to enter into an alliance and allow him to retain his prime minister’s post.

The long-awaited alliance deal between Abadi’s Victory Alliance, which came third in a May parliamentary election, and Sadr’s Sairoon list, which won the largest number of seats, is expected to help in forming the new government after weeks of political tensions as a result of vote-ragging.

The central bank said on Tuesday it was committed to keeping the local currency peg to the dollar after the dinar fell to a 17-year low on concerns about rising public debt.

"The CBB has confirmed its commitment to keep the dinar pegged to the dollar at 0.37608 and there is no change in the value of the Bahraini dinar," the central bank said.

Rafidain Bank announced the introduction of a hotline to receive complaints from citizens and employees about the banking services provided in all branches in Baghdad and the provinces.

The bank's media office said in a statement received by the agency of all Iraq [where] a copy of it, that "the phone has been allocated complaints [07901940112] for receiving complaints and grievances of citizens related to the submission of advances and loans in the branches of the bank in Baghdad and the provinces."

He pointed out that "the special number [422] concerning electronic payment tools [electronic card] has been allocated."

"There is a possibility of filing complaints in a fund set up by the general administration of the bank," he said.
