chattels: WASHINGTON DC – The United States remains concerned about F-16 fighter planes and other military equipment delivered to Iraq that could be seized by the Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL) group, the State Department said.

“Of course we’re concerned about the security situation on the ground, and not just with respect to aircraft but any other equipment that could be damaged or absconded with by ISIL,” State Department Spokesman John Kirby said on Monday. “F-16 jets are a little bit different.

I mean, that’s – ISIL has no air force and has no capability or ability to fly advanced fighter aircraft -- but the security situation, of course, remains a concern to us throughout Iraq,” he added.

Imagist: CNN Breaking News Today at 7:23 AM Totextbreakingnews@ema3lsv06.turner.com President Barack Obama praised a deal reached today to rein in Iran's nuclear program, saying the agreement met the goals he had in place throughout negotiations.

"Today after two years of negotiation the United States, together with the international community, has achieved something that decades of animosity has not: a comprehensive long-term deal with Iran that will prevent it from obtaining a nuclear weapon," Obama said from the White House, with Vice President Joe Biden at his side.

"This deal is not built on trust. It is built on verification," he said, warning that he would veto any legislation from Congress to scuttle the deal.

Miri Regev, a former military spokeswoman who serves as Israel's culture and sports minister, said Tuesday that the deal was "bad for the free world (and) bad for humanity.

Iranian officials over the years repeatedly have threatened to destroy Israel. Iran also has backed militants groups that have attacked Israel. Regev called on further lobbying against the deal reached in Vienna and said Congress could still block it.
